Wes Andrews is a renewable-energy project developer and compulsive doodler based near Austin, Texas. As the founding pen behind the Climatoonist cartoon series, he attempts to capture the hopes, frustrations and absurdities of working on the front lines of the energy transition (mostly through the eyes of frumpy, wide-eyed characters). He finds humor in the tensions, contradictions and misunderstandings that arise as the world tries to move to a cleaner energy system and way of life. He earned a BA in environmental science from the University of Virginia, where he was an editorial cartoonist for The Cavalier Daily.
