Kari Lydersen is a contributing reporter at Canary Media. She is based in Chicago and covers Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. She is also an assistant professor at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where she leads an investigative lab. She is the author of five books and her work has appeared in outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Washington Post, where she was previously a staff writer in the Midwest bureau.
