On Friday, I did my (first!) live TV interview with the meteorologists Stephanie Abrams and Jordan Steele on The Weather Channel’s climate show Pattrn. They were curious about how to transform a typical fossil-fueled home into a clean-energy dream home, a subject I wrote about for Canary’s Home of the Future series in February. I walked through some of the key steps you can take to electrify your home and make it more energy-efficient. I also talked about weatherization, heat pumps and my unabashed love for the induction hot plate.

The hosts mentioned that my interactive article functions like a kind of home-improvement checklist — and they’re right! But you don’t necessarily have to tick off the action items by yourself; companies are popping up to guide you through the complex home-electrification process.
