One-man solar revolution

An editor from Scientific American shows off the solar panels at his home, which he says will pay for themselves in less than six years.

This morning, Grist highlights a recent video of George Musser, an editor at Scientific American, showing off the solar panels at his New Jersey home.

In the video, Musser says he’s dreamed of a solar-powered house since he was a kid, and that economic conditions have made it a reality. His system, which only cost around $5,000 after state, local and federal incentives, will pay for itself in less than six years:
